I did the course/tests spread out over a period of months. The word processing and presentation software sections I was able to complete quickly (in less than half an hour). Since I was unfamiliar with a number of the other techniques, it took me longer to do those sections. I had never used HTML, CSS, or Access before, so I needed to take the workshops at SLAIS (three hours each, plus some time spent practicing on my own). I also spent more time on the spreadsheets task because I found the instructions a bit unclear and since the resource for Microsoft Excel was only a link to the Quickstart Guide, it was difficult to try to teach myself how to use the software. In general, I would have preferred this to be an in-class course.
